Metabolic pathway in vivo
Guanidinoacetic acid (GAA) is the direct endogenous precursor of creatine in the organism of all vertebrates. Creatine biosynthesis is a two-step process. In the kidney, arginine transfers its amidino group to glycine to synthesize GAA. GAA is transferred to the liver, where S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) gives its methyl group to GAA to synthesize creatine. Creatine is then transported by the bloodstream to the target cells with high energy need, such as skeletal muscle, mammary gland, heart, brain, sperm and immune cells. Creatine plays a key role
in energy transfer and supply via creatine-phosphocreatine system. Dietary supplemental NutriBuilder® can increase creatine levels in the body by 20%.
Why do we use GAA in swine feed?
GAA is the exclusive precursor of creatine in swine.
Classic corn-soybean meal diet can not supply enough creatine for pigs.

① Cyanamide, 300 mg/kg in GAA will cause weight loss, anemia, hypothyroidism, stooping back, tremors, rough fur, pale soft exudative(PSE) pork, nervous disorder and higher death rate in pigs.
② Dicyandiamide, 2000 mg/kg in GAA degrades into gaseous cyanide access to stomach acid, causes and aggravates respiratory diseases for pigs. Besides, dicyandiamide tastes bitter and affects feed intake.
③ Melamine, above 10 mg/kg in GAA reduces feed consumption, weight loss, bladder stones, crystalluria, renal failure and reduces survival rate of pigs.
④ Dioxins, above 750 pg TEQ/kg in GAA are extremely harmful to human and animals. Human will suffer reproductive function damage and development problems, immune system damage and cancer after eating even low level of dioxins
3. With a near density (550 kg/m3±10%) as corn and soybean, it can be easily premixed well with feedstuff.
Applications
For weaned pigs
Dietary supplemental NutriBuilder® at 500-600 g/t in weaned pigs can increase average daily gain by 30-50g, decrease feed to gain by 0.05-0.10, improve immunity and increase survival rate. Besides, NutriBuilder® can replace half or all of the fish meal in diets.
For growing-finishing pigs
Dietary supplemental NutriBuilder® at 300-500 g/t in growing-finishing pigs can increase average daily gain by 50-60g, decrease feed to gain by 0.2 and back-fat thickness, increase dressing percentage and lean percentage by 1-3%, and improve meat quality. Besides, 300-500 g/t NutriBuilder® in the formula can save net energy (NE) 50-75 kcal/kg.
For sows
Dietary supplemental proper dose of NutriBuilder® in sows can increase born alive by 0.5-1.0 per litter, increase birth weight 40-50g and weaning average body weight by 200 g per piglet. Besides, NutriBuilder® can shorten sow labor, reduce back fat loss, improve survival rate of piglets and reduce the rate of weak piglets.
